I'd love to have said yes but if you visit the front page, i placed a message saying that i've put Wicked Rock on hold after 10 years. Websites are not what they used to be. We live, sadly, in a world of instant messaging. I will one day, as a hobby, finish www.muthamusic.com but in the meanwhile my personal blog - www.wickedmike.com - gets about 15 000 pages visited per month. I can't escape my passion for music so, ironically, i just started a music section there - have a look. Happy to accept a non-paying contribution there. Or maybe we should get you running with your own blog if you don't already have one. Thanks.

Hi, Sue. isPermaLink="false">http://www.wickedrock.net/#comment-4155

am wondering if you would be interested in an article on The Blockheads. 2012 sees 35 years since the formation of Ian Dury and The Blockheads (it also sees Ian’s 70th birthday had he lived on 12th May). If recent gigs are anything to go by there is still lots of interest and a huge fan base. Since Ian’s death in March 2000 the band have been working hard, making new albums and touring with guest singers and Derek Hussey on vocals.
The article would cover a brief history of the band, the interplay of personnel from The People Band, Kilburn and the High Roads and The Blockheads. Present day line-up and musicians the 5 originals and their appearance, quotes, other projects they are involved in, the interaction of Davey and Gilad.
The piece also gives information on the legend that is Davey Payne (saxes) and how he is so different in person from the legends of him being explosive, abrasive and volatile. It also includes reviews of 2 gigs, reactions of the crowd, playing of each member in their solos and the musicianship that shines through. Information on projects of each member. Also the new drummer, John Roberts.
Quotes from Derek, Davey, Mickey and Chaz – the experience at a small, special, intimate gig at the Monto Water Rats recently. Derek discussed his friendship with Ian recently with me and I have some great anecdotes.
I can get information direct from the band, the article will also cover the future, current projects – especially those linked to the 35 years celebrations and management.
I can basically cover the band from whatever angle you want – whether a review, questions answered or quotes/facts/general information.
This article would fulfil interest in Ian Dury, nostalgia, new fans, the incredible interest in The Blockheads still and a celebration of the band today. I can give quotes from conversations, snippets of information and an overview of some recent gigs. I have support to write from the band, fans and can get lots of information.
I think there is a real market for an article like this, as there are many Blockhead fans out there and even after Ian's death, the band are still going strong - and sound great!
I can give the run down on current members, past members, the sax players (new, old and how the remaining 5 members interact.
I have had 3 books and hundreds of article published and would love to do this piece.
Can you let me know if you are interested and I can give you a firm outline based on the angle you want to go for.
Best

Clinton Jurgens here from South African hard rock band STONECOLLAR. We have just released our debut album, Trial By Fire, and would like to know if Full Wicked Rock could do an album review on it and be posted on your site. We also have selected MP3's for free download if that's an option. Being in South Africa its a bit tricky getting an album to you, so I'd like to know whether you'd be happy to receive a link to a high quality download file containing the 10 tracks, the album artwork as well as a press release for the album? If that's cool then you can download that file here:
www.stonecollar.co.za/download/reviewers.zip
If however you don't think it's a good fit, then could you direct us elsewhere. Thanks so much, and your time is much appreciated.
Looking fwd to your feedback

Alas, band members live in different countries nowadays and when they do get together in South Africa for the holiday season, it seems that they go to the highest bidder. Their E.P., Mouth of Me, is one of greatest releases of all time!

They definitely got a pro vid here and i was hoping that it was a sign that they were about to take over Europe.
